Source Entity Fields
A source entity field is the entire field name of a source field, beginning with the name of the entity in the following format:
entityname.fieldname

In the Fields tab of a block:
- When you create links between your source and target entities, the source entity name displays as part of the source field name in the Formula column of the Target pane.
- If you select a linked target field and select the Formula icon
, the name of the source field displays in the Formula Editor. - For fields that have a Parent/Child relationship, the entity name includes the primary entity as well as the related entity, such as, Contact.Account_Account.AccountNumber.
- The entity name is always the first element displayed in the Categories pane of the Formula Editor.

For any function where you can enter an expression, the expression can be a source entity field. TIBCO Cloud™ Integration - Connect uses the value of the field in the formula when the app runs. When you use a source entity field in a formula:
- Do not use quotation marks.
- Be sure to specify the entire source field name, including the entity name.
- For fields that have a Parent/Child relationship, the entity name includes the primary entity as well as the related entity. Be sure to use the entire entity name in the formula.
